Shona Ferguson has died at the age of 47.
The Sunday World was the first to break the news, with a source telling the publication: “I can confirm that he just died. Connie is busy with the funeral arrangements.”
Family spokesperson, Tshwane Malope confirmed the news by speaking to Kaya 959 newsdesk on Friday afternoon.

RIP: Shona Ferguson has passed away Tamlyn
Shona was reportedly rushed to the hospital over a week ago after complaining about chest pains.
According to the Sunday World, he had a heart operation. A source told the publication that Shona was fighting for his life in ICU.
The Ferguson family disputed the claims in a statement.
“Mr. Ferguson’s untimely passing was due to COVID-19 related complications, and not a heart operation as reported in the media. We ask that you give the family time to process this painful loss and respect their space during this time.”
Shona’s last post on Instagram was shared on Sunday. The post, which quoted 2 Corinthians 12:9, spoke about grace in a time of weakness.
Shona’s death comes three weeks after his wife, Connie Ferguson, revealed that her brother, Moses Masilo, had died.
The actress also remembered her mother who passed away in July eight years ago.

Connie and Shona Ferguson’s love story
Connie and Shona’s relationship has inspired many people. The couple celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in December last year.
Shona surprised Connie with a custom-made 18ct rose gold ring, set with natural pink and white diamonds.
The pair met at a home in Johannesburg in 2001. Shona says it was love at first sight. Two months after the meeting they became man and wife.
The power couple built an empire together, which includes their successful production company, Ferguson Films.
The company has given us hits such as ‘The Queen’, ‘Rockville’, and ‘The Throne’.
Connie and Shona renewed their wedding vows in 2011.

Scores of people took to Twitter to share their condolences.
Many refused to believe that Shona had passed away.
“At this point, I can’t imagine what Connie Ferguson is going through. I really hope Shona Ferguson is not dead,” another Twitter user wrote.
Another user wrote: “No man shona ferguson we still waiting for jozi kings to return. I pray the news is fake.”
