Our special guests on Home With Mapaseka, two beloved artists Rami Chuene and Busiswa Gqulu, who speak about self-love and embracing your body. The conversation, inspired by a new campaign that has been the talk of the nation for retail store, Ackermans, where they were featured.
The two were interrogating what it truly means to love yourself. Asking Afropolitans their definition of self-love beyond the superficial, ego-based definition.

The campaign has attracted a lot of attention, both positive and negative. Following the release of the campaign, Busiswa says she expected a backlash of negative comments body-shaming her.
“People are body shaming everyone, from Beyonce to Bonang, so why wouldn’t they body shame Busiswa. I was very ready. People are body shaming us already with our clothes on. I knew the lingerie campaign would come with a lot of body-shammers.”
In another conversation on #TheBestTInTheCity with T-Bose, Afropolitans were engaged in discussion on how they would react if their girlfriend, wife, mother, BFF, sister were approached to do a nude/lingerie campaign.
These were some of the reactions:
