She left him because he did not have enough money, but a Pretoria man says he wants his wife back after winning R8-million in the Powerball Plus jackpot.
According to Ithuba, the man won the August 10 jackpot after using R22.50 to buy a ticket at Brazil Café.
Like many lottery winners, he has big plans for the money. Top of the list is wooing his wife back.
“My wife left me at the beginning of the year because I did not have enough money. I want my wife back, so I can rebuild my life with her and our kids and have our dream home,” he told the national lottery operator.
The dad says “it has been such an emotionally draining year” and winning the lottery still feels like a dream.
He plans to pay off his debt, buy a new car, and save for his children’s education.
“The rest of the winnings will go towards purchasing a brand new house for my parents.”

Social media reaction
There were mixed reactions on social media to the winner’s plans to get his wife back.
“His ancestors gave him the loot because the snake is outta the house, yena he goes back to fetch it. I smell “I blew it” in the next 12 months!” one Twitter user wrote.
Another user says the wife will finish the R8-million “faster than he can say Super califridgelistic Espe-aledocious”.
“She’s going to chow it and then she will leave again when it is finished! Then she is going to tell this idiot that ‘I am used to the finer things in life and you can’t measure up’,” a third person commented.
What happens when the 8 meter is finished? She’s going to chow it and then she will leave again when it is finished! Then she is going to tell this idiot that “I am used to the finer things in life and you can’t measure up” 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/4e3cKN8q8x

But some were not as harsh on the man.
“I respect this guy.. well he might be blinded by love or he might be seeing this from a different angle that no one understands but he surely know where his heart is and if that makes him happy therefore he has chosen his happiness first,” a Facebook user wrote.
