Kaya 959 is proud to celebrate two major victories at this year’s Telkom 2025 Radio Awards, a respected programme that recognises excellence, creativity and service across South Africa’s radio industry.
The station walked away with top honours in the Traffic Presenter of the Year and Station Imaging categories, reinforcing Kaya 959’s commitment to powerful sound, trusted information and meaningful audience connection.
This year, the award for Traffic Presenter of the Year was awarded to Tsikwe Molobye. His clear delivery, warm tone and consistent reliability have made him one of the most recognisable voices for listeners navigating Gauteng’s demanding roads. The traffic category remains a cornerstone of radio service, offering real-time information that helps keep communities safe and informed.

Kaya 959 also received the Station Imaging Award, which recognises the creative sound identity that defines the station. Imaging shapes how a station feels, moves and connects with its audience. It builds rhythm, establishes brand personality and threads together music, news, features and advertising. Judges praised the station for sound that is fresh, memorable and uniquely African.

Acting Managing Executive Dave Tiltmann says the wins speak to the dedication and craft of the Kaya 959 team.
“The Telkom Radio Awards shine a light on the highest standards in broadcasting, and being recognised in these categories reflects the passion and talent behind our sound. Radio is intimate and immediate. When you deliver excellent audio and provide credible service, you build a meaningful bond with your audience,” Tiltmann said.
Kaya 959 congratulates all contributors involved in creating the station’s award-winning sound and extends its gratitude to listeners, partners and sponsors for their continued support.
