Actress Phindile Gwala has broken her silence following claims she assaulted a woman at a nightclub.
Facebook user, Nompilo Beryl Mkhize, claimed Phindile attacked outside Cubana nightclub in Pietermaritzburg.
Nompilo says she was taking videos and pictures of herself when the alleged attack occurred.
“I was about to stop the video and request for a ride home when Phindile Gwala (known as Nonnie on Muvhango also as Nkululeko’s girlfriend on Imbewu) walked out. She came at me with her friend shouting “nangu omunye” assuming I was taking a picture/a video of her.”
According to Nompilo, Phindile then grabbed her phone.
“She grabbed my phone from my hand, went to my gallery, and deleted the first video she found. Her friend kept shouting “awuceli ngani” and I was still confused by that when Phindile smashed my phone.”

Phindile reacts to claims
Phindile took to Instagram to respond to the claims made against her.
“It is with a sense of humility that I express my gratitude for the constructive criticism, guidance and support I have received from people of this country,” she wrote.
The actress added that they are both putting the incident behind them.
“Without dwelling much on legal issues, I do wish to point out that this prevailing spirit of ubuntu has resulted in both of us withdrawing cases that we had opened against each other.”
