Former President and now leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, Jacob Zuma has 21-days to appeal his expulsion from the African National Congress (ANC).
This after the ANC started a disciplinary hearing against Zuma after starting a rival organization (uMkhonto weSizwe) and refusing to vote for the ANC, which he formerly led.
In January, Zuma was suspended from the ANC for endorsing the MK Party, with his actions being found to be counter-revoluntionary by the ANC’s National Executive Committee.
Zuma’s disciplinary hearing was postponed until after the 29 May elections to 17 July and the former President and leader of the ANC was found guilty of contravening the party’s constitution.
There were 2 charges against Zuma and this included 1 for collaborating with another political organisation and another for joining another political party outside of the ANC.
“In a leaked document that reportedly details the findings from the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee, Zuma was found guilty of contravening Rule 25.17.17.4 of the ANC Constitution, read with subsection (2), for prejudicing the integrity or repute of the Organisation by acting in collaboration with a register politica party, to wit the uMkhonto weSizwe party, which is not in alliance with the ANC, in a manner contrary to the aims, policies and objectives of the ANC.”
