William Nicol Drive becomes Winnie Mandela Drive as of 26 September.

Nelson Mandela’s second wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, was a politician and anti-apartheid campaigner from South Africa.
“To honour one of our national icons, the City of Johannesburg, working together with national and provincial government, has approved the renaming of William Nicol Drive to Winnie Mandela Drive,” said the City in a post on Friday.
“The unveiling will take place on September 26, which coincides with her 87th birthday.”
Hyde Park, Bryanston, Fourways, and Dainfern are all accessible via the William Nicol Drive, which runs from Sandton to Diepsloot.
Winnie Mandela Drive remains one of Johannesburg’s busiest highways, it is frequently mentioned in radio traffic reports during morning and afternoon rush hours.
