Gauteng residents are urged to bundle up as a biting cold front sweeps across the province, sending temperatures plummeting and prompting warnings from Emergency Services. Many areas have already seen the mercury drop below freezing, with forecasts indicating continued frigid conditions.
Johannesburg Emergency Services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, has advised residents to double their blankets and take all necessary precautions to stay warm during this intense cold spell.
Gauteng Weather reported on X that Johannesburg is forecast to hit 0°C today, while Pretoria is expected to see temperatures around 2°C. Vereeniging is already experiencing severe cold, with current temperatures hovering at a bone-chilling -2°C.
