Water supply has been restored at several health facilities in Gauteng following days of disruptions caused by Rand Water’s infrastructure maintenance.
The Gauteng Department of Health confirmed that water is now fully restored at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, South Rand Hospital, Alexandra Community Health Centre, and Helen Joseph Hospital.
However, the Hillbrow Community Health Centre remains affected.
“The entire Hillbrow area is still impacted,” said department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba. “We are relying on Johannesburg Water, which has been consistently supplying water tankers to refill the JoJo tanks. Despite the challenge, services at the facility continue as normal.”
Modiba thanked the public for their patience and cooperation, adding, “The infrastructure upgrades by Rand Water are crucial for ensuring the long-term security of water supply across the province.”
