Sri Lanka protesters mean business and have made very clear demands that their president must step down.
Food, fuel, and pharmaceutical shortages have been ongoing for months as a result of the country’s poor economic management, which has all been blamed on the president.
On Saturday, huge crowds gathered outside President Rajapaksa’s official residence, chanting and waving the national flag before bursting through the barriers and entering the building.

The protesters then decided to occupy the Sri Lanka presidential and prime ministerial residences to voice their grievances.

According to protesters, the presidential and prime ministerial homes in Sri Lanka will remain occupied until both leaders formally resign.
According to a statement issued by the speaker of the house on Saturday, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated that he would stand down on July 13.
According to the BBC, neither the president nor a representative of his has been seen in public.
