KwaZulu-Natal has been battered by further floods after a weekend of heavy rains washed away roads, cars and buildings yet again.
This as the province was busy with repair work on damages that were caused during April’s floods.
The tourist town of Umdloti, was one of the hardest hit areas in eThekwini, with blocks of flats, restaurants and houses being swept away in landslides.
Disaster management teams have their hands full in Umdloti, Umlazi, Wentworth, Isipingo, Amanzimtoti, and Tongaat, which were some of the areas that were hit last month as well.
Residents of Tongaat were still dealing with a lack of water supply since April, which has not been resolved, as a result of water infrastructure being completely damaged.

In videos shared to social media, restaurants in Umdloti had to be evacuated as a massive landslide wrecked havoc on the popular tourist destination.
The upmarket beachfront area has been severely affected, with large sinkholes taking entire apartment blocks, roads and other infrastructure with it.
Weather warnings were issued for KZN last week, which were then moved to a Red Level 10 warning as the rains were predicted to last until Sunday night.
According to reports, there were no casualties in Umdloti but an estimated 200 people have been evacuated.
Just got this from my Friend who owns Restaurants in Umdloti, they had to evacuate. Both Restaurants have been closed but at least they are safe… 😭 #KZNFloods2022 #KZNFloods pic.twitter.com/sPvz92hyrR
