Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan wounded in ‘assassination attempt.
Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan, has survived a gunshot that took place at a political gathering on Thursday, an incident which was described as an assassination attempt by his party.
The attack left one person dead, and several others injured, and it ignited protests from Khan’s fans.
When gunfire sounded out, sending his party members running for cover, video of the purported incident shows Khan waving from an open-topped truck just outside the town of Gujranwala in Punjab province.

CNN reports that following the shooting, Khan-supporting demonstrations erupted Thursday across Pakistan, including in Islamabad and Peshawar, where some 800 demonstrators gathered.
For almost two hours, they obstructed traffic while carrying party flags and yelling anti-army and anti-federal government chants.
