USA Powerball has skyrocketed to R 27 billion after no winner on Wednesday.
The jackpot for Saturday is now expected to be R27 billion, which would have a cash value of R13 billion because no one matched all six numbers on Wednesday.
The largest prize in Powerball history was R 28 billion sold in January 2016.
The estimated R21 billion prize drawn on Wednesday night ended up with having non-winner, and the news has sent shockwaves across the globe.
There was no jackpot winner on Monday either, but Powerball reported in a press release that more than 5.4 million tickets won cash prizes totalling over a billion rands on Halloween, including 10 tickets that matched all five white balls for an R18 million reward.

In the game’s thirty-year existence, the jackpot’s top reward has reached the $1 billion barrier three times, most recently on Wednesday.

According to Powerball, if there is a winner on Saturday night, the jackpot would be the second-largest in Powerball history and the third-largest in American lottery history.
