Gauteng Police have launched an intensive investigation after 11 people were fatally shot on Saturday at an illegal shebeen in Saulsville, Pretoria West.
The death toll, initially confirmed at 10, has now risen to 11, with 14 others injured and receiving treatment in the hospital.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed that 25 people were shot, adding that a manhunt is underway for three unidentified suspects.
Among the deceased are three minors, a 3-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old girl.
The rest of the deceased are adults.
Although the motive is still unclear, authorities say gang-related violence cannot be ruled out as investigations continue.
