On Monday evening, devastating news reached South Africans as they learned of the passing of the multi-award-winning singer/songwriter, Zahara.
Zahara had been hospitalised since November of this year due to persistent physical pains.
Following the heartbreaking news of her untimely passing, fans and friends of the singer flooded social media with tributes.
Thato Immaculate, known for her role in Entangled, highlighted the immense loss Zahara’s passing signifies for the South African music industry.
“You will forever be imbedded in our hearts… You had us all singing your songs; we will never forget you. I was looking forward to finally meeting you on the 23rd. Robala Ousi waka , robala ka kgotso.”
Lady Zamar expressed gratitude to Zahara for her trailblazing impact on the music scene.
“Zahara did a lot for the music industry in South Africa. She paved the way for so many others with her icon presence and guitar in her hands. She will be missed. I never knew her personally, but her music was loud and brave. I was praying for her family; she was loved,” tweeted Zamar.
