The murder trial for seven men accused of killing South African rap star Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his close friend, celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, has been scheduled to run from 5 October to 8 November.
The high-profile tragedy occurred in February 2023, when both men were gunned down in a brazen, cold-blooded attack outside a popular restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road.
The shocking assassinations devastated fans worldwide and devastated the South African creative industry, robbing the country of a musical icon and a celebrated culinary entrepreneur in their prime.
On Thursday, the co-accused Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande, Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande, and Malusi Dave Ndimande appeared together as a group for the first time in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter until 13 August to allow the respective legal teams to meet and finalise preparations, confirming that the main trial will officially commence on 5 October.
