Maropene Ramokgopa was nominated for the position of 2nd DSG while Western Cape coordinator Ronalda Nalumango was endorsed by delegates from her province for the same position.
There was drama at the start of the nominations process from the floor with delegates struggling to find common ground on who exactly they want to lead the organization going forward
The first nomination from the floor was for Dr Nkosazana-Dlamini Zuma for the position of President. She, however, declined that nomination.
The second nomination was for David Mabuza to return to the position of Deputy President. He however declined
Gunning for the position of Treasurer General are Benjamin Chauke, Pule Mabe, Mzwandile Masina and Gwen Ramokgopa.
The converted position of Secretary General will be fought for by Mdumiseni Ntuli, Phumulo Masualle and Fikile Mbalula
Gauteng ANC provincial leader Panyaza Lesufi says they have faith in the slate that they will be backing at the conference
Speaking on the special broadcast of Point of View with Phemelo Motene Lesufi says as a province they have had to embark on a robust lobbying campaign after receiving feedback from branches.
He says the power now rests with the delegates to ensure that the organization has the kind of leadership that will be able to take it
