The Willowton Group is desperate to find the armed group of men who raided its Sunfoil oil warehouse in Kempton Park, Johannesburg on Wednesday, 05 October.
A substantial amount of 2 litre Sunfoil oil was raided and the manufacturer is offering a whopping R100 000 reward to anyone with information on the crime.
The group is urging the public not to purchase the stolen goods, but this may be a tall ask considering the price of oil in the country.
A 2 litre bottle of cooking oil is currently selling for approximately R120 at most retailers, which is almost two times higher than last year.
In a statement issued, the Willowton Group said there are joint efforts with the South African Police Service to track down the stolen goods using the batch numbers on the products.
“A reward of R100 000 is being offered for any information that would lead to the successful apprehension of these perpetrators and/or the recovery of the stolen goods.
Any information may be reported to 082 888 7813 and will be treated with confidentiality.”
