Eskom has said that due to a shortage of generation capacity they will be implementing Stage 2 loadshedding from 17:00 this afternoon (3 May) until 05:00 on Monday.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Eskom said, “Since yesterday a generation unit each at Lethal, Tutuka, Ingulam Drankesberg, Arnot as well as two units at Hendrina and Matla power stations suffered breakdowns.”
“We currently have 3 875MW on planned maintenance, while another 15 067MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.”
Eskom expects to return as many of these units to service as possible over the next few days, it said.
