Cristiano Ronaldo could face deportation from Saudi Arabia for his crude, crotch grabbing gesture, in response to fans taunting him by chanting Lionel Messi’s name.
The Portuguese footballer who is currently playing for the Saudi side, Al Nassr, stormed off the pitch after a humiliating 2-0 defeat by Al-Hilal.
It was then that the 38-year old responded to fans who were ridiculing the former Manchester United forward, by chanting his rival, Messi’s name, and grabbed his crotch.
Now, a Saudi lawyer is calling for Cristiano to be deported from the middle east country for his act of ‘public indecency.’
Nouf bint Ahmed wants the footballer to be severely punished for his crotch grabbing gesture and said she will be submitting a petition to the Public Prosecution Office immediately.
“I don’t follow sports but even if Al-Hilal supporters taunted him, his response to them is shameful.
The behaviour of Cristiano Ronaldo is a crime. A publicly indecent act, which is one of the required crimes for arrest and deportation, if it is committed by a foreigner.
So, we will be submitting a petition to the Public Prosecution Office in this regard.”
Saudi Arabia has 19 enforceable public indecency violations that are punishable offences and any act that is considered indecent or sexual in nature is at the top of this list.
Not only is Cristiano facing deportation but there are also calls for Al-Nassr to terminate the striker’s £175m-a-year contract.
This after the footballer who is known as CR7 received heavy criticism from journalists for his immoral and impolite gesture in the conservative middle east country.
Neither Cristiano, nor Al-Nassr have responded regarding his crotch grabbing gesture.
