Rea Vaya buses are now operating.
Rea Vaya stated that it has notified customers that its buses are running.
On Wednesday, employees stopped working due to frustration with the conditions of their thirteenth check’s payout and delays in its payment. The operating company, PioTrans, was placed under business rescue in December 2023.
An injunction against striking bus service employees was obtained on Thursday by PioTrans’s business rescue practitioner.
Rea Vaya has in a statement released on Friday apologized for the inconvenience.
Passengers are informed that Rea Vaya buses are operating now. We will operate a full service by midday. We apologise that we could not start the service early this morning. We thank passengers for their patience and will provide regular updates on service.”
