The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is calling for donations of R67 for 67-minutes this Mandela Day.
SADAG, a registered non-profit organisation receives over 2 500 calls a day and the R67 donations can go a long way to making an impact.
With Mandela Day on Thursday, 18 July the organisation is aiming to run a 67-minute donation drive from as little as R67, R670 or more.
This will be put to use to run the only Suicide Crisis Toll Free Helpline in the country, which relies on donations.
SADAG says Mandela Day is a day to encourage individuals, communities and organisation to take time in their busy schedules to make a positive impact in our communities.
A R50 donation to SADAG helps cover 3 counselling calls, while a R2 000 contribution helps cover rural mental health talks.
Donations help SADAG provide free services 24 hours, 365 days of the year.
These services include support groups, free counselling, brochures on mental health and suicide prevention and more.
