A former high school Principal has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 15-year old boy multiple times.
Mduduzi Ndlovu was found guilty of raping the learner from 2018 until 2022, threatening to hurt the teenager if he told anyone about the incidents.
Ndlovu was sentenced in the Vryheid Regional Court for the rape and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The court heard how the 39-year old Principal requested the boy to assist him in his office one afternoon in 2018.
He then became aggressive with the learner and raped him. Thereafter Ndlovu gave the boy money and stationery in exchange for his silence.
“Ndlovu raped the victim on several occasions, and would sometimes fetch him from home and drove with him to his place of residence in Bhekuzulu where he would rape him.
He manipulated and violated the 15-year old who trusted and believed in him as his teacher. Ndlovu threatened to harm the boy if he told anyone about the incident.”
It was only in 2022, when a church member noticed the boy behaving strangely and questioned him, that he broke his silence about the rape.
This was when a rape case was opened.
