The pilot of a light aircraft has died following a crash that took place on Wednesday morning, 15 February.
According to reports, it is believed the pilot experienced trouble shortly after take-off, resulting in the plane crashing into a river in Knoppieslagte in Centurion.
Emer-G-Med paramedics said the aircraft was found near the N14 highway, with only one occupant in the aircraft.
The aircraft is said to have had a fixed wing but the cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
SAPS and the South African Civil Aviation Authority will conduct further investigations and follow processes.
This is the second light aircraft crash in two months, after two people were killed last month in another crash near Nasrec.
