President Cyril Ramaphosa made a killing this weekend at an auction in Bela Bela, in Limpopo, where the country’s wealthiest farmers placed bids on top tier animals.
The auction took place in an auction house belonging to the statesman, and heavy prices were paid by some of the richest animal breeders in the country.
Motsepe who is Ramaphosa’s brother-in-law is a well known South African mining magnate Patrice Motsepe and executive chairperson of African Rainbow Minerals. He was also on a spending spree this weekend.
According to reports Motsepe bought four females cows for nearly R5 million – and paid over R2,1 million for an Ankole cow belonging to Ramaphosa.

The Ankole is a Ugandan breed of domestic cattle.
According to Business Insider Ramaphosa ventured into Ankole farming in 2004 after travelling to Uganda to meet with President Yoweri Museveni.
