Over 140 vehicles stolen and smuggled to neighboring countries have been recovered.
According to Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, border guards have recovered more than 140 stolen and trafficked cars to neighboring nations.
Motsoaledi is at the South African-Zimbabwe border post of Beitbridge, where President Cyril Ramaphosa launched the Border Management Authority (BMA) on Thursday.
The interceptions were conducted by border guards during their deployment last year.

“The border guards have intercepted 141 cars that were stolen and were about to cross the border into the neighboring countries. Considering that they are only 200, we are satisfied that they are working very well.”
“We will be introducing another cohort of 400 border guards, so we are no longer going to have 200, we will have 600, of course is still a small number.” said Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi
