A Municipal Manager of a district municipality in North West was arrested by the Hawks’ serious organised crime unit on Saturday 17 September 2022.
This was in connection with an alleged irregular awarding of a tender to a service provider who allegedly did not even do the work.
According to Hawks spokeswoman Tlangelani Rikhotso, the arrest is related to an R2.4 million+ tender.

Former Ratlou acting municipal manager Cassius Sebatane Sejake was accused of corruption in connection with an R5.8 million contract in October 2020.

Charges of fraud and violating the Municipal Finance Management Act will be brought against the suspect, whose name will be released following his court appearance at the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court (MFMA).
