No injuries were reported after a fire gutted the Johannesburg Country Club on Tuesday, 10 September.
City of Joburg Emergency Management Services were alerted to a structural fire call around 16:20 and found the building ablaze on arrival.
Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene in Auckland Park and evacuated everyone on the property to safety.
The fire was contained in the kitchen, dining hall and reception area and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
It is alleged that the fire started in the kitchen and spread to the roof, destroying parts of the Johannesburg Country Club.
On Wednesday morning, parts of the country club were reopened and it was business as usual.
The Johannesburg Country Club was established in 1906 and is a registered heritage site.
