A newborn baby girl has been pulled out of the rubble in Syria alive, still attached to her dead mother by the umbilical cord.
The baby, whose entire family has been killed by two earthquakes that wrecked Turkey and Syria, is now orphaned.
Rescuers shared the moment the newborn was found, calling it a miracle that the baby girl survived.
“We heard a voice while we were digging. We cleared the rubble and found the baby with the umbilical cord still attached to the mother. The cord was cut and the baby was taken to hospital.”

The baby girl’s entire family in northern Syria were killed after the earthquake flattened their home.
Her dramatic rescue went viral on social media, showing a man running with a dust-covered newborn in his hands.
Reports say the baby is in hospital under observation but she appears to be in perfect health and didn’t sustain any injuries.
The bodies of the newborn’s mother, father, four siblings and an aunt were recovered whilst the miracle baby was taken to hospital.
As the death toll from the earthquakes reaches 8,300, nearly 40,000 others have been injured. Rescuers are working tirelessly around the clock to pull survivors out of the rubble in freezing temperatures.
