Tebogo Khaas, the founder of Public Interest SA, tweeted a thread outlining the decision for the All African Alliance Movement to have Mogoeng as their presidential candidate.
Klass wrote that there’s been widespread consultation behind the scenes on the formation of the movement.
“It’s reported that they send [a] delegation of 25 Religious & Tribal leaders to engage ANC and demanded that ANC that was founded by Religious, Tribal leaders and African Academics be reconstituted alongside Congress principles focused on the battle for Land, Ubuntu and African Morals.
“It is alleged that an ANC delegation led by the ANC Chairperson Gwede Mantashe did not show interest in the subject and the parties’ discussions collapsed having met at least three times,”
“The other delegation met with Gayton McKenzie and Julius Malema seeking that the two reconcile and avail their organisations to be part of a future African leaders and organizations Coalition Government. It is alleged that progress was registered in this instance.
“Some of the parties engaged with includes the PAC, Azapo, the ATM and the COPE,” wrote Klass.
