The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party says leader Jacob Zuma has nothing to hide and will present himself to the ANC’s disciplinary committee.
This after the ANC confirmed that Zuma is expected to appear before the committee on Tuesday, 07 April regarding his campaign as leader of the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Zuma who was suspended from the ANC in January for his endorsement and campaigning initiatives advocating for the MK Party, is still a member of the ANC but is appearing on the ballots in the upcoming election under MK Party.
MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela said Zuma is not a coward and has nothing to hide, and will therefore gladly appear before the ANC’s disciplinary committee.
“Whatever the outcomes thereof, he is at the ANC’s mercy in terms of how they want to deal with it but at this point in time, pending the outcome of the DC, there is nothing we can say. Let’s see what their position is and take it from there.”
Meanwhile, former Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe says the ANC is within its right to summon Zuma before the disciplinary committee.
Motlanthe who will be on Point of View with Phemelo Motene on Monday, 06 May is leading the ANC campaign trail in Soweto.
Kgalema Motlanthe reiterated the ANC’s reasoning for summoning Zuma to a disciplinary hearing, saying the former President is charged with contravening the ANC Constitution.
