Julius Malema has warned the new Police Commissioner, General Masemola, to be aware of Police Minister Bheki Cele.
This after President Ramaphosa announced General Sehlahle Fannie Masemola as the new Police Commissioner on Thursday.
Whilst the Economic Freedom Fighters acknowledges General Masemola’s position, Malema believes that Bheki Cele will do everything in his power to make sure the commissioner fails.
“We don’t doubt your capacity, but please be aware of Bheki Cele. He will do everything in his power to make sure you fail. Please don’t take his illegal instructions, your mandate is to fight crime, nothing else.”
Malema tweeted
General Masemola, congratulations Tau. We don't doubt your capacity, but please be aware of Bheki Cele; he will do everything in his power to make sure you fail. Please don't take his illegal instructions; your mandate is to fight crime, nothing else. pic.twitter.com/fs6S4jYCxl

The EFF has raised concern about the crime in the country on a number of occasions, most recently in a Parliament Q&A session.
Malema questioned President Cyril Ramaphosa as to why he’s so scared to act against the Police Minister. In response the president stated that he’s not scared of anything and has ensured resources are available to train and recruit 12 000 new police personnel.
The National Police Commissioner is expected to work alongside the Minister of Police, colleagues and peers in the JCPS Cluster, the women and men of the South African Police Service, community structures, business and the private security industry to make the country safer.
