
Lesotho seeks to declare the whole of the Free State parts NC, EC, MP, and KZN as part of their territory.
A resolution regarding the reclamation of some areas of South Africa is anticipated to be discussed in the Lesotho parliament on Wednesday.
According to the order paper of parliament, an opposition MP has asked lawmakers to “declare the whole of the Free State, parts of the Northern Cape, parts of the Eastern Cape, parts of Mpumalanga, and parts of KwaZulu-Natal as part of Lesotho’s territory.“
The reclamation will be undertaken in accordance with General Assembly Resolution 1817 (XVII) of the United Nations, which was adopted in December 1962.

In 1871, Lesotho – then Basutoland – was part of the Cape Province – but, in 1884, it was declared a distinct crown colony.
According to the Lesotho Star, the people of Lesotho, historically were found in South Africa’s Orange Free State, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga and parts of KwaZulu-Natal, however, they were forced to move to present-day Lesotho because of forced migration during wars.
