Legendary South African actor, Darlington Michaels died on Friday, 13 September after a short illness.
Best-known for his role as “Papa G”, Georgie Zamedela on the popular soapie Isidingo, Michaels was a much-loved actor.
The SABC confirmed news of Darlington Michaels’ passing, saying his immense contribution to the entertainment industry will never be forgotten.
“The SABC is deeply saddened by the passing of the legendary Darlington Michaels. His immense contribution to the entertainment industry will forever be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Michaels family, friends and fans.”
Kaya News reports that Michaels took a break from acting in 2016 after suffering a stroke, which forced him to focus on his health.
Michaels returned to the small screen although he had not fully recovered, taking on a role in Vula Vula.
