Threads app sets new world record as the fastest online platform to reach 100 million users
Threads, a Twitter competitor owned by Mark Zuckerberg, has amassed 100 million users in less than a week, making it the fastest-growing app in history.
Threads racked up more than 100 million users in less than five days breaking a a previous record by ChatGPT, an AI tool, for the fastest-growing consumer app.
The app which launched on Thursday was a massive hit with many early adopters jumping in and having their first experience of the app.

Mr Beast, an American YouTuber and philanthropist who is known for pioneering a genre of YouTube videos that centers on expensive stunts and challenges became the first person on the platform to amass 1 million followers on the platform.

Instagram itself took two and a half years to achieve that threshold following its 2010 inception, while ChatGPT took two months and the video-sharing service TikTok took nine months.
In the first ten hours after its introduction, more than 10 million users joined Threads, according to its CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Threads reportedly amassed 2 million sign-ups in just two hours after launch, 10 million users in seven hours and 30 million in just 12 hours.
