IEC encourages voters to vote where they are registered.
Voters are reminded by the IEC that they are limited to using the voting districts in which they are registered to vote. Only voters who alerted the commission that they will be absent from their assigned districts and would like to modify their voting site between March 15 and May 17, 2024, as specified in the Election Timetable, will be permitted to cast ballots outside of their districts on May 29.
Election Day, set for May 29, has been designated as a public holiday.
Three ballots will be sent to voters in the province where they have registered to vote: a national, regional, and provincial ballot.
They can only cast ballots on the national ballot paper, nevertheless, if they vote outside of the province in which they are registered to vote.
Voters can check their registration details and confirm the location of their correct voting stations ahead of Election Day by using the following channels:
- SMSing their ID number to 32810
- 0800 11 8000
- WhatsApp ‘Hi’ to 0600 88 0000
