A KwaZulu-Natal woman has opened a case of attempted murder against her husband and two others.
The 34-year old woman from Amanzimtoti, KZN accused her husband Ramith Aneerudh of stealing her jewellery as well as her SUV, and hiring two men to strangle and dispose of her body.
On 13 March, the woman claims she was strangled by two men who then loaded her limp body into a vehicle, in an attempt to dump her in a sugar cane field.
However, she woke up in the seat of a silver Toyota Etios with an unknown male.
The wife sustained bruising to her neck from being strangled with rope, as well as other serious injuries.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers tracked Aneerudh and two alleged accomplices to Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape where they were arrested and detained.
RUSA also managed to recover the wife’s vehicle in Umzinto, KZN on Monday, 15 April, just a few hours after she had contacted the team for assistance.
Her husband, a male and a female were arrested at a one bedroom home in Coffee Bay.
According to RUSA the woman who was arrested was sending intimidating messages to the victim in an attempt to persuade her not to pursue a criminal case.
When questioned Aneerudh told RUSA officers that he attempted to kill his wife because he could no longer maintain her expensive lifestyle.
A fourth suspect remains at large.
