Home Affairs introduced the Trusted Employer Scheme (TES), a one-stop shop for business applications.
The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has established a centralized location to expedite business application processes and implement the suggestions from its initiative to reform visa requirements.
The Trusted Employer Scheme (TES), introduced on October 11, 2023, is a one-stop shop, was established with the goal of managing the visa program effectively and processing applications quickly.
The department has said work permit processing times will be reduced to 20 days instead of 22 weeks.
An employer, investor, or company must show that it follows ethical business practices, has the resources to hire a foreign worker, and conducts training programs for its citizens in order to be eligible for members
“With the Trusted Employer Scheme, the 22 weeks’ average visa process will be reduced to an average of 20 days thereby making it easier for employers to plan their recruitment and on-board expats into local operations within a shorter time. This is one scheme that will allow South Africa to more easily attract skills and manage immigration, particularly in the processing of applications for senior executives, technical personnel, corporate employees and investors. This will happen while we continue to observe and respect existing immigration laws,”
Home Affairs Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.
