Herman Mashaba has taken a leaf out of John Steenhuisen’s book by travelling abroad to tackle international issues.
Mashaba who is in Germany attending the German-African conference, being held in Berlin this year.
South Africans were left perplexed at Mashaba’s involvement at the conference as the Action SA leader doesn’t have much sway on international relations.
According to the party, Mashaba is going to be discussing the current political situation in the country.
When asked who paid for Herman Mashaba’s trip to Germany, Action SA said it was the German political party foundation, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).
Mashaba apparently then used his own funds to upgrade his flight to business class.
On his agenda, Mashaba will be discussing the financial crisis brought on by Covid-19. He will be bringing up the long-term trajectory and the political mismanagement of the country’s economy.
The German-African conference is an annual event hosted by KAS and the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung foundation.
"There is no doubt that external shocks like the financial crisis & COVID were devastating for the South African economy.

But, the long-term downward trajectory must be explained against the political mismanagement of our economy." – @HermanMashaba pic.twitter.com/61P0SnAoid
