South Africans hoping to get their money from from Hello Darlings, may be facing a losing battle as CEO, Tazz Moosa has declared bankruptcy.
Moosa has finally broken her silence, when she was interviewed by the Laudium Sun, where she explained her side of the story.
She was recently accused of defrauding holidaymakers out of millions and deactivating her accounts, leaving without a trace.
Since then 368 cases of theft and fraud has been opened against Moosa at police stations across the country.
To date over R32 million worth of losses have been logged.
Speaking to the publication, Tazz Moosa shared that her company has been in operation since 2018. She said that due to the various travel bans, her business was impacted.
“When the travel bans kicked in during 2020, we had multiple trips that were booked and paid for and when the airlines and hotels refunded us, we paid the bulk of refunds out. Again, due to being at a loss, it was not sufficient to pay the Europe reloaded refunds, so we offered to complete these trips during this year.”

I did not steal anyone’s money
According to Moosa, all trips that were booked until November 2021 were honoured.
However, disgruntled clients contest this and say that the businesswoman stopped taking their calls when they tried querying details about their trips.
Moosa told the publication that she did not flee the country, as she has not lived in SA for years.
She blamed the death threats she received as the reason for deactivating all her contact details as it was a matter of safety.
“I have not disappeared, or run away with peoples money. My life and that of my children have been threatened and we therefore went to a place of safety, as any responsible parent would. These threats will be circulated with the details of the threateners to the relevant authorities to aid a protection order application. The threat to my children is further exacerbated, now that pictures of the said minors are circulating,” Moosa said.
She tells the publication that her company is undergoing a liquidation and sequestration process.
However her apology and explanation may not be enough to the hundreds of South Africans who were duped by her dealings.
Moosa claims that she used the money that people paid for trips towards the end of 2021 to refund holidays that were cancelled due to the pandemic.
She cites this as the reason for running her business into the ground.
“While I acknowledge that I ran this business poorly and suffered tremendous trade losses, I HAVE NOT STOLEN anybody’s money. I am not on the run with millions, let alone thousands. My bank statements can verify this and will do so.”
Tazz Moosa says she has a legal team representing her but her whereabouts are still unknown.
