After 48-hours without water, some Johannesburg residents are concerned about the water coming out of their taps.
This after one social media user took to Twitter to share that the little water that she was able to fill from her tap, was blue.
The woman, known as Ntombi M reached out to Joburg Water to find out if the blue water was safe for her to consume or use.
Ntombi isn’t the only Johannesburg resident, however who is concerned over the colour of the water that is finally coming out.
Most residents from Roodepoort, Northriding and surrounds said that what was coming out of their taps looked like milk and tasted like it had been mixed in Dettol.
This now has residents questioning how safe the water is for consumption, and whether Joburg Water tests the water being released after outages.
In response, Joburg Water said, “We have alerted Cydna lab on the matter. They will be in contact with you shortly. We sincerely apologize for this.
It is suspected to be copper from the building. However, we will confirm once the results are issued from the lab which will be 24 hours after the samples have been tested.”
