The EFF is holding a protest outside Hank’s Irish Pub in Cape Town following an alleged incident of racism.
This follows a patron claiming he was barred entry unless he was accompanied by a white person.
A video showing Thabiso Danca’s friend, Christopher Logan confronting the owners of Hank’s is what sparked the outrage from the public.
“There’s no place for racism,” is the general consensus from a group of EFF members who will not tolerate “an apartheid mindset.”
Wandile Kasibe, EFF spokesperson said they have not engaged directly with the owners, but said they do not have time to be diplomatic with racists.
“We are not in a position to negotiate with racists. They must arrest these people and revoke their license and people who are supporting this business must withdraw their support.
They too must feel the pain of practicing racism in South Africa, especially in the Western Cape. Racists have become emboldened in this province, one of the reasons is simply because the province itself is led by racist DA government.”

Hank’s has however denied the allegations saying they were started by unfounded and unproven hysterics by a third party.
The establishment had chosen to remain closed on Tuesday, 06 December for fear of intimidation and threats.
In a statement, Hanks said they had been victims of physical assault by the primary individual, Thabiso Danca, and charges of assault have already been laid.
The owners also claim that in the 30-years that they have been operating businesses in Cape Town, they have never instructed their employees to discriminate on any basis whatsoever, whether that be gender, sexual orientation or race.
