A student teacher in Durban is in a critical condition after being shot in the head this morning, 07 June.
The incident took place at a school in Newlands West at 08h00.
Netcare911 and Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene confirming the shooting.
“Just after 08:00 am on Tuesday morning, Emer-G-Med paramedics, together with Netcare911, responded to the scene of a shooting incident at a school in the Newlands West area of Durban.”

The male student teacher is said to be in his thirties and sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical attention and is in a critical condition.
Emergency personnel were able to stabilize him before he was transported to the hospital.
Circumstances around the shooting are unknown at this stage, but it has been reported that he was approached by three unknown suspects.
The suspects fled the scene in a black vehicle and police are calling for anyone with more information to report to them.
A case of attempted murder has been opened.
