The death toll from the Boksburg gas explosion has risen to 27 people.
The Boksburg tanker explosion has now claimed 27 lives, according to a confirmation from the Gauteng Department of Health on Thursday morning.
10 of the casualties are health workers from the Tambo Memorial Hospital, situated 100m from the site of the explosion on Saturday morning.
Only three of the 13 employees who were hurt in the bomb are still alive and are being treated in critical condition at the hospital, according to departmental spokesperson Motalatale Modiba.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the 32-year-old driver of the gas tanker truck responsible for the Boksburg explosion had been freed on Tuesday due to inadequate evidence, therefore he had not appeared as scheduled before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
