- Senegal (R9.72 million) and Morocco (R4.98 million) face heavy fines for supporter misconduct, “unsporting conduct,” and interference with VAR.

- The disciplinary committee officially dismissed Morocco’s challenge regarding regulatory violations following a match that descended into chaos after a missed penalty.
Following the chaotic aftermath of the match decided by a Pape Gueye goal, the disciplinary committee has issued heavy sanctions against both federations.
The match reportedly descended into pandemonium following a missed penalty by Morocco’s Brahim Diaz, leading the committee to reject a formal protest from Morocco regarding alleged regulatory violations by Senegal.
Senegal’s Football Federation (FSF) faces a total financial penalty of R9.72 million ($615,000). This steep fine is split evenly between R4.74 million for supporter misconduct and another R4.74 million for the “unsporting conduct” of players and staff.
Morocco’s Federation (FRMF) was hit with a total fine of R4.98 million ($315,000). The bulk of this R3.16 million stems from the “inappropriate behavior” of ball boys, while R1.58 million was charged for staff and players obstructing the VAR area.
The federation also owes R237,000 due to supporters using lasers. High-profile captain Achraf Hakimi received a two-match ban (with one match suspended for a year), while Ismaël Saibari faces a three-match ban and a R1.58 million fine following “towel incidents.”
Beyond the team-specific penalties, a major individual sanction was handed out for bringing the game into disrepute. This includes a five-match suspension and a R1.58 million ($100,000) fine. In total, these rulings highlight a significant crackdown on the misconduct that overshadowed the result on the pitch.
