Patrons at Cubana Southgate were forced to take cover on Sunday, 29 May, when a group of armed robbers stormed the club.
Five men who were armed, demanded money, car keys and cellphones.
Thankfully, there were no casualties reported but one person described the ordeal which lasted all of 3-minutes, like “being in hell.”
In a video that has since been shared, there are several screams from scared women, and before the camera falls, people frantically duck under tables for cover.
According to the man who shared the video, Nkosinathi Shiza, the armed robbers fired 6 gunshots before entering the venue.

At the time of the incident, Cubana Southgate was not full, there were about 50 people inside.
Shiza shared that the men seemed well co-ordinated, instructing people to lie down and hand over their belongings.
“They went to the bathroom and robbed the people who were hiding there. I told them my phone was in the car, but another woman who told them the same thing, was not lucky, they asked for her car keys instead.”
Cubana Southgate could not offer comment on the incident and said they were waiting for feedback from head office.
There has been no indication as to whether a case of armed robbery was opened at SAPS.
