The ANC will be staging a march against GBV in Pretoria on Thursday, 04 August. Several streets will be affected by the planned march which also aims to bring awareness to the spate of tavern killings.
Motorists are advised to take note of the following streets which will be affected by the march:
The following intersections will be affected:
- Emily Hobhouse Avenue
- Ben Viljoen Street
- Stasie Street
Alternative routes to be considered include:
- Wonderboom St
- Gerrit Maritz Road
- Rachel de Beer Street
The march is expected to start at 09h00 and will follow a route from Jopie Fourie Park, joining President Steyn before ending at Ben Viljoen in Pretoria North.
According to SAPS, the march against GBV will end at 11h30, but Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) will be on standby to monitor the situation.
