Pretoria residents in several eastern suburbs are set to face daily power outages next week due to essential maintenance work by the City of Tshwane.
The municipality’s Energy and Electricity Business Unit will carry out a five-day construction and upgrading project at the Wapadrand 132/11kV Substation, resulting in scheduled electricity supply interruptions.
The maintenance work will take place from Monday, 15 December 2025, until Friday, 19 December 2025, between 09h00 and 17h00 each day.
Areas supplied by the Wapadrand Substation will experience power outages of up to eight hours daily during this period.
Affected areas include Wapadrand, Silver Lakes, Six Fountains, Equestria, Faerie Glen and Lombardy. Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly and to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.
