More than 40 people were found dead Monday in the trailer of an abandoned truck in San Antonio, Texas.
Authorities claim dozens of migrants were discovered dead on-site, on a scorching Texas day.
Four children and at least 16 other people were sent to a hospital.
According to officials, the victims, many of whom were young adults, were both male and female and have not yet been identified.

The truck was discovered early on Monday evening in southwest San Antonio close to the railroad tracks.
According to authorities, a local employee reported hearing a call for assistance and seeing at least one body.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg told NBC News that the 46 people who died had families who were likely trying to find a better life.
Nirenberg said. “This is nothing short of a horrific human tragedy,”
