A 34-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and set alight over the weekend in Roodepan’s Lethabo Park near Kimberley.
Due to her severe injuries, the lady who was set alight after being gang-raped in Roodepan’s Lethabo Park passed away.
Around 8.20 p.m. on Friday, the critically hurt woman was discovered in front of a shack in Lethabo Park, where she had reportedly been raped by three men before being set afire with paraffin.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock, the woman passed away from her wounds on Saturday after being admitted to the hospital.
“The Galeshewe SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit is investigating the murder and rape,” said Kock.
He also mentioned that no arrests had been made yet.
An eyewitnesses who spoke to the SABC says she managed to extinguish the fire on her body and ran to the informal settlement to call for assistance.
“I didn’t even think it was a lady. When my child called me I was thinking it was a man because my child told me it was a man that was stabbed ‘you must come and help’, and then I ran home and I called my boyfriend to come there. When he came in, it was a lady, naked and burnt, and was raped by three men,”
